The Greater Toronto Kurdish House is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit organization established in November 2005 seeks to accomplish its objectives by bringing together all Kurds in the GTA regardless of their differences to promote unity among them.

Our Mission

As an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit organization,the Kurdish House mission is to bring all the Kurds living in Toronto and GTA, regardless of their origin, under a roof to:

  1. Play their social, cultural and educational role, peacefully, as a member of the great Canadian modern and multicultural society
  2. Promote and cultivate co-operation, understanding, and a spirit of fraternal regard and friendly relations among its members
  3. Encourage a healthy, respectful and friendly relationship and cooperation with other organizations or community groups on the basis of mutual understanding and democracy
  4. Facilitate the sharing of ideas and experiences between its members.
  5. Promote and foster programs and services to the common good of its members.
  6. Participate in, or support projects, seminars or research programs which, could improve the quality of life of the Kurdish community or increase its social knowledge
  7. Facilitate a permanent place in Toronto or GTA area, as a center, in which all the members could get together to practice in its activities
  8. Promote Kurdish language and culture by establishing an evening/weekend training center through its members.
  9. Create different committees to fulfill diverse needs of the Kurdish House members, i.e. Youth groups, Women’s activities.
  10. Sustain a website and a media group to update the Kurdish community about the day-to-day events, news and/or useful information
